Replacing failed glazing sealant in glazed structures, both externally and internally, is essential for preventing moisture infiltration and maintaining a proper seal. This contributes to the durability of the structure
Choice of products to apply:
– DRY SEAL™ MP
PG1.1 Remove cracked/detached sealant from the entire lower surface and a minimum of 300 mm on both vertical sides. Use a utility knife. Remove sealant residue.
PG1.2 Prep work on wooden subsurface

PG1.3 Clean the glass surface with a glass cleaner. Remove old sealant residue carefully.
PG1.4 Apply the DRY SEAL™ MP with a small excess in the rebate. Make sure that there is optimal contact with the wood and glass, or metal and glass, and that air inclusion is prevented. finish the sealant fillet with an EASY-Q™ Sealant Applicator or modelling knife in a smooth motion. Ensure that water can easily drain off the seal and not pool or collect.
PG1.5 After curing, remove any sealant residue from the glass surface, using a glass scraper.
If ‘DRY SEAL™ MP seam’ is to be painted:
PG1.6 Prime the DRY SEAL™ MP with water-based primer after a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 30 days. If painted after 30 days, lightly sand the top layer of DRY SEAL™ MP.
PG1.7 Treat according to painting advice.
