The 7 steps to durable watertight seal
Check putty
Check the existing putty seam. Cracks and loose sections easily let moisture into the wooden structure.
A useful tool here can be a feeler gauge.

Remove loose putty
Remove any loose putty.

Sanding and cleaning the groove
Sand the rebate: The smoother the rebate is, the easier and tighter the masking of the DRY SEAL™ MP will be. Any unevenness is reflected in the putty seam.
Remove all loose residue and clean the rebate well. Also ensure that the glass at the level of the new putty seam is clean and grease-free.

Priming the rebate area
Preferably prime the rebate with a quick-drying putty.

Applying DRY SEAL™
Using a smooth motion, fill the putty hem liberally and completely. Make sure the sealant runs out in front of the nozzle to prevent air entrapment.

Finishing off DRY SEAL™
Smooth off the DRY SEAL™ MP dry. Using the squeegee rubber, smooth the putty hem tightly.

Build up the paint system
Build up the paint system according to the paint supplier’s advice.
DRY SEAL™ MP is repaintable with waterborne and VOC2010 paints after only 2 hours.
